About

This all started with a love for fashion and a very painful experience learning how to draw fashion figures.

A bit about me - I love designing and sewing clothes. When you have an idea for a clothing design, you want to just be able to sketch it straight away. Unfortunately, I wasn't very good at drawing the people underneath the clothes. I'm embarrassed to show you examples.

So, I sunk hours into YouTube tutorials on "easy 9-heads" and "easy fashion sketches" with no success. I wondered why people didn't just use a stamp or a stencil - after all, I only wanted to be able to draw one pose! I was frustrated that I was wasting so much time learning how to draw the exact same fashion figure, and less time doing what I really loved - designing and sewing clothes.

I spent a lot of time finding the perfect material, stencil thickness and cutout thickness. I also taught myself how to use Adobe Illustrator. At last, after a very long design process (and lots of shipping delays) (note to self, avoid boats in the future) - Croqi was born.

Since the moment I started, I've been getting messages from people who have told me that they've had the exact same problem I've described here. It's been incredible to realise this is actually a really common problem, and I'm excited to see what comes out of this!

I'm always keen to hear about new design ideas, so shoot me a message if you ever think of any.
